QUOTE OF THE DAY
"The cure of many diseases is unknown to physicians…They are ignorant of the whole which ought to be studied also, for the part can never be well unless the whole is well. This is the great error of our day in the treatment of the human body, that the physician separates the soul from the body. - Plato
FAST FACTS
1-in-5 patients are completely misdiagnosed by their physician.
20% of all medications prescribed in hospitals are inappropriate.
75% of physicians fail to inform their patients about the potentially toxic side effects of the drugs they prescribed (in many cases because the doctors themselves are unaware of them).

THE DANGERS OF TOXIC MOLD
From our inception, we at www.1healthyworld.com have made it a point to alert our readers to the serious health risks posed by indoor contaminants such as lead, formaldehyde, volatile organic compounds, and toxic mold. Last risk, the dangers of toxic mold surfaced twice in the media, in both cases involving celebrities.
The first case involved the family of rock star Ted Nugent, whose family has been forced from their home due to mold caused by a water leak. The incident was so severe that Nugent’s wife is now suffering from “lasting health problems,” and the residence is so toxic that the family they may have to abandon it and all of their possessions within it. According to Nugent’s wife, Shemane, "I went to a toxicologist in Royal Oak and they tested 12 vials of my blood. I was just feeling tired all the time and kept getting these migraine headaches. They found four mold types in my blood stream and said I had pre-emphysema and pre-asthma conditions that may be related to the mold exposure.” (To read the whole story, visit http://www.zwire.com/site/news.cfm?newsid=9374509.)
Also last week, the Los Angeles Times reported: “Mold outbreaks are more prevalent now because of the way homes are built. Since the 1970s, they've been made more energy-efficient, that is, buttoned up so tightly that moisture can't escape. Homes are also built with less expensive, porous materials, such as drywall, plywood and stucco, that lure moisture. Modern plastic pipes aren't helping; they break easier than copper plumbing, causing water leaks. And building-boom-style faulty construction has meant cracks in the foundation, improperly installed windows and other problem areas where water can pool.” The same article also mentioned that, “Jennifer Aniston found it [mold] growing in the garage of the $15-million Hollywood Hills home she shares with husband Brad Pitt; she flew to Malta to join Pitt while a crew came to the rescue. Toxic-crusader Erin Brockovich got sick from it …Ed McMahon fell ill, and his dog died.” (See full story at http://www.latimes.com/la-hm-mold10jul10,0,1468796.story.)
I bring these stories to your attention to point out a simple fact: Mold is an often overlooked hazard that can pose serious health risks. If you suspect your home or workplace may be affected, take action to find out. Getting started is simple and inexpensive (see the following Unabashed Plug).

HEALTH NEWS AND COMMENTARY
Food and Drug Administration (FDA) Unveils Guidelines Allowing Food Labels to Cite Health Benefits.
Last week, the FDA released its guidelines that will “allow food product labels to carry government-approved claims about health benefits, even if they have not been conclusively proven.” According to FDA Commissioner, Mark McClellan, “This new initiative will better protect consumers from making uniformed or misinformed choices about their diet." (To read more on this story, see http://snurl.com/1sbl.)
[COMMENT: This is definitely a step in the right direction in terms of medical freedom. Critics of the measure worry that it will allow food manufacturers to make unwarranted claims, but a full reading of the guidelines makes clear that the claims will first be reviewed by a panel of experts and then rated according to category. There will be four categories overall A, B, C, and D, with an A rating meaning that there is “significant scientific agreement,” and a D rating meaning that there is “little scientific evidence supporting this claim.” Since the rating process will not begin until September, we’ll have to see how this plays out, but so far so good.]
Incidence of Hypertension Rises Throughout the 1990s.
A study published last week in the Journal of the American Medical Association found that 29% of Americans now suffer from hypertension (high blood pressure), an increase of 4% among the population since 1990, reversing a downward trend that began in the 1960s. Moreover, nearly one-third of the over 58 million Americans suffering from the condition in 1999-2000 were unaware of their illness. The study also revealed that 40% of patients with the condition went untreated and over two-thirds “did not have their condition under control with antihypertensive drugs or other means.” (To read more on this story, see http://snurl.com/1sbt.)
[COMMENT: Hypertension, as well as cardiovascular illness in general, is an imminently treatable and preventable condition once its underlying causes are determined and properly addressed, something which antihypertensive drugs simply cannot do (drugs manage or control symptoms; they do not resolve their underlying causes). This study points out a number of things: the growing incidence of high blood pressure, the failure of drugs alone to treat the condition, and the need for the public-at-large to more regularly screen for it. For anyone interested in learning proven holistic treatments and self-care methods for dealing with hypertension, as well as stroke and heart attack, I strongly recommend Burton Goldberg’s Definitive Guide to Heart Disease, available at http://www.1healthyworld.com/ebooks/Heart-Book-Info.cfm.]
One-Third of Physicians Fail to Disclose All Treatment Options to Their Patients
According to research published last week in the journal Health Affairs, “Nearly one in three doctors reports withholding information from patients about useful medical services that aren’t covered by their health insurance companies, and the number may be on the rise.” The primary reason for their doing so, according to the study, was due to physician links to managed care companies. Moreover, “The study found that doctors whose own salaries are closely tied to controlling costs were more likely than other doctors to report withholding information.” (To read more on this story, see http://snurl.com/1sbw.)
[COMMENT: Moral of story? Don’t take your doctor’s word to be gospel. Especially given the constraints and added pressures experienced by physicians who are part of managed care companies. If you expect to be healthy, you must take responsibility for your health, become informed as possible as to your full range of health care options, and commit yourself to a lifestyle that reflects your healthy and informed choices.]
HOLISTIC TREATMENT FOR CANDIDIASIS (Part Two) By Robert Ivker, D.O.
[Rob Ivker is a good friend of mine, who to me exemplifies what it means to practice holistic medicine. What follows is part two of an article illustrating his successful approach for reversing candidias (systemic yeast infection). This week, Rob examines the condition’s most common symptoms.

Symptoms Of Candidiasis
It is precisely because the symptoms of candidiasis are many and varied that its diagnosis is frequently overlooked. This wide variety of symptoms is largely due to the way in which yeast overgrowth occurs. Initially, candida invade the tissues of the gastrointestinal (GI) tract by metamorphosing into a plantlike form and sending roots into the walls of the small intestines. Eventually these roots can bore holes in the intestinal wall, causing a condition known as "leaky gut syndrome" that enables candida, bacteria, food, and other material to enter the bloodstream. From there candida are then carried throughout the body to inhabit those areas most favorable for their continued growth. These areas include the rectum, anus, vagina, the genitourinary tract, and the moist mucous membranes of the lungs and sinuses. Once these tissues are colonized symptoms such as inflammation, sinus pain, muscle aches, joint pain, vaginal and anal itching, and burning following urination can result. Whether these symptoms are due directly to candida or from the toxins they release as they migrate through the body has yet to be verified.
Usually the initial symptoms of candidiasis occur in the GI tract and are caused by widespread inflammation in the small bowel. These include symptoms of bloating, diarrhea, constipation, gas, cramping, rectal itching, and a feeling of fullness. If prolonged (usually for more than a year), leaky gut syndrome can follow, triggering multiple food allergies and sensitivities.
In severe cases of candidiasis, the toxins released by candida can cause tissue damage in other organs throughout the body and inhibit the function of suppressor T-cells, thus weakening the immune system. These white blood cells modulate antibody production. When weakened by candida, they produce an excess of antibodies which, in combination with poorly digested proteins caused by leaky gut syndrome, account for the multiple adult-onset allergies experienced by many people suffering systemic, or whole-body, candidiasis. When this occurs, even normally tolerated exposure to common chemicals can cause severe allergic reactions. An immune system weakened by candidiasis can also produce antibodies to the body's own tissues, resulting in severe PMS, hypothyroidism, fatigue, irritability, depression, headache, and cravings for sweets. Feelings of spaciness or mental fog is another common symptom of candidiasis, as are poor memory and concentration, and mood swings. What follows are the symptoms that are most common.
Brain and neurological: fatigue and lethargy, mood swings, depression, irritability, diminished ability to concentrate, impaired memory, headaches, insomnia, feelings of spaciness or "fuzzy headedness."
Urogenital: vaginal itch or burning, recurrent prostatitis, recurrent urethritis or cystitis, burning on urination.
Skin: acne, scaly skin, generalized itching, hives.
Ear: recurrent ear infections, ear pain, diminished hearing.
Musculoskeletal: joint pain, muscle pain/ache.
GI tract: constipation, diarrhea, cramping, bloating and distention, mucousy stools, indigestion.
Respiratory: chronic stuffy or runny nose, itchy throat, recurrent sinusitis and other infections, postnasal drip.
Female conditions: severe PMS (including feelings of depression and anxiety), irregular periods, painful periods, decreased libido, endometriosis-like symptoms.
Senses: blurred vision, watery eyes, salty or metallic taste.
Other: intolerance to heat and cold, overweight. Additional warning signs include rapid heartbeat, cold extremities, and sensitivities to foods (especially dairy products and foods containing dietary yeasts and molds), chemicals, and inhalants.
[Next week Rob discusses how to properly diagnose candidiasis.]

THE HUMAN ENERGY FIELD – AN INTERVIEW WITH VALERIE HUNT, Ph.D.
[Dr. Valerie Hunt is one of the most brilliant healers and researchers I have ever met. What follows is part two of an interview I conducted with Valerie that is featured in my next book, Health on the Edge: Visionary Views of Healing in the New Millennium, which will be published by Tarcher/Putnam later this year. Q: Based on what you're saying, a person's health index would be directly related to how well he or she adapts to whatever they are experiencing moment to moment.
A: Well, there are certain parameters. First, for optimal health to exist, the field has to be very broad-spectrum and adaptive. Some of the people we test have electromagnetic energy that is in the middle of the spectrum and is truncated there. They can't go very high, and they can't go very low. They seem to dribble through life and struggle. Then there are the people, such as those who practice certain types of meditation, whose frequencies are extremely high, so that if something happens in the world, they don't respond on the middle or lower branches. They respond on the upper branches. They have a certain kind of peace, yet they often die of hypotension (low blood pressure, cancer) diseases because they don't have enough vital energy. And then there are some people who are in the lower ranges, which means they don't have the high frequencies, but they have a heck of a lot of energy. They can do things that the rest of us can't physically do even if we push ourselves to exercise and build more strength. These are the people who have difficulty with hypertension, skin conditions, anything that is hyper or excessive in terms of imbalances. The ideal field is one that has the low frequencies, the middle frequencies, the higher frequencies, and no major break in between any of them, so that they can play the total range of the piano, as it were.
The next parameter is power. Power is a quantitative measurement. You may have the complete frequency range, but the only place you have power is in certain aspects of that range. That's where you operate from because that's where you've got power. If you have power in the lower ranges, you will be physically active, and have vital dynamic life. I'm 87 and nobody knows it. I have lower frequencies and this keeps cells and organs working and keeps me looking younger. If you have great frequency in the middle ranges, you can easily handle intellectual issues and can solve problems. If you have power in the upper ranges, you can go into higher states of consciousness, find wisdom, you have levels of thought which are conceptual. But the ideal is to have power within the entire spectrum of frequencies.
Then there is the question of coherency or stability, which has to do with whether the field comes back to a resting state when it's not being challenged. When the field starts to disintegrate or become anti-coherent, it means that things don't go together. You will have frequencies out of sync and the energy does not flow. Now in the lower parts of the body there are more of the lower energy frequencies, in the middle body there are more of the middle frequencies, and in the upper body there are more of the upper. But this is not the same as saying that each chakra has a particular energy. It does not. It has to do with the nature of the field, and as soon as the field becomes anti-coherent things don't flow. And the primary organizer of all of this is human emotion. It is the apex. When we shift human emotion, we can do amazing things with the electromagnetic field.
Q: You've developed instrumentation you call an "AuraMeter" to calibrate all of this. What methods existed prior to the AuraMeter, and what are their inherent limitations?
A: The first method, which has always been around, are people who can see the light aspect of these electromagnetic frequencies, or the human aura, as is depicted in early art work showing the halo around the body and the head of the angels, the Christ, the Buddha, and religious figures. People who access the higher level frequencies can see this. This has been one of the areas that initially validated my electromyography or my AuraMeter. I used eight aura readers, the best I could find in the world. They worked simultaneously to read one person's aura from different parts of the lab where they could not hear what anyone else was saying. I recorded their findings at the same time that I recorded the subject's energy field. I found complete correlation among them with the primary colors of the field's spectrum-red, yellow and blue-and I found very high correlation with the secondary colors. But I found no correlation with colors like puce, chartreuse, or turquoise because those colors are an interpretation of a blend of colors. If we kept the aura readers observing the area of color frequency and nature of the field, they sometimes saw the flow of the field and they saw blockages within it. Blockages are signs of anti-coherency. The problem here with many aura readers is that they want to interpret what the blockages means, and many of them are very fuzzy thinkers; they do not have scientific minds capable of making an accurate diagnosis.
The second method of evaluation involves bio-frequency machines. There are a bunch of them out there, and they take a quantitative sample of the electromagnetic field. But they are only measuring one aspect of electromagnetic field-the power of the energy. They don't measure the frequency range itself, or the flow, coherency, and stability of the field.
Then there are the organ system energy devices. These test the energy of organ systems and some functional systems, which measure if an organ has too little or too much energy. But these devices don't tell us why. They are very good for finding out which organ is sick, but are incapable of telling you what the source of the sickness is, or how your field handles your relationships in the world.
Then there are the Kirlian devices which photograph the subject. Kirlian himself was supposed to have exposed the photographs through his own mind; he didn't have any film in the camera. What he was doing was recording the energy in his mind and then putting in on the tape. That's why it took so long for Kirlian photography to develop. I used to work in Kirlian photography using films. I did it for many years trying to see what was going on. But in order to work with it, you have to introduce an energy field to enhance the radiation of the electromagnetic field. This means you are measuring a secondary response, not the primary one. You're getting something that happened as a result of giving it a shock, by introducing energy. We also found out that there are many things that can change the result, such as the moisture on your fingers or your emotional state. And the measurement comes in the form of a picture so, even though you may get a change in color, for example, you have to interpret what it is. It's not raw data, in other words. Some of the new Kirlian devices are getting better because they are photographing much more of the electromagnetic field and then assigning numbers to it, but the numbers come secondarily. They are not in the data itself.
These are the major limitations to these types of methods, even though all of them do give some indication of the electromagnetic field. The AuraMeter does everything that they can do, but it is far more complex. My basic recording has been 200,000 cycles per second, and I now have an instrument that records to 750,000 cycles per second. That's a heck of a lot of data. And we put it through fractal analysis, which is the only kind that you should ever use on these data. Fractal geometry replaces the old Euclidian geometry which presupposes that the world is made up of triangles, circles, and straight lines, and any piece of information that does not fit into that pattern gets dumped. It gets thrown out. Yet life is not a bunch of straight lines and circles. Anything that is living has dynamic differences and changes, and fractal geometry provides me with a dynamic formula which allows me to look at emotion and change.
My data is handled not by correlations, but by patterns of interrelationships. I look at the pattern in the electromagnetic field using fractal analysis. I look at the patterns of health and biological disturbances. I will soon have software that will enable me to conduct very sophisticated and complex measurements of these patterns. Not the simple things like brainwave patterns, EEG, which only go up to 100 cycles per second, or cardiograms, which only go up 150 cycles per second. The electromagnetic field does not even begin until 400 to 500 cycles per second, which is beyond the range of the nervous system of the human body. I'm talking about atomic and sub-atomic patterns-the transactions between the electromagnetic field as it radiates out from the body and transacts with the electromagnetic field from outside of the body, which is radiating in.
Let me say a little bit about this. If you take a ball and drop it, it will fall because the gravitational pull reacts to its mass. That's a reaction. Then we have the next higher level, which is called an interaction. If you put oxygen with hydrogen, in ordinary circumstances, it creates water. This is a form of interaction. But, when it comes to field interaction you have what is called a transaction, which means the human being can change his field. There are three types of transactions. In the first type, the person can come in contact with an external field of reaction and not even react to that field. People sometimes refer to this as putting a barrier up. The person doesn't interact with the external field at all, or he may put up a total barrier so that nothing ever comes into his field, so there is no transaction. Or the opposite can occur-he can be overwhelmed by the external field, which is a one-way transaction. We're all familiar with the experience of being sapped by another person's energy, for example. The person who is said to be doing the sapping is, in a way, overpowering the other person, and the other person has to be overpowered. That is the transaction, and I have tested this.
Then there is the third type of transaction, in which both fields change and improve. That's the ideal situation, and I've tested this, as well, putting two people together and watching to see if there was a transaction. Sometimes the energy changed, going from one person into the other; one person changed while the other stayed the same. Sometimes there was total barrier. I had them close enough, yet nothing happened. There was a complete lack of transaction. And sometimes I put people together and their fields blended and became more elaborate, as each became stronger. This is the ideal transaction, and is what should happen in all human situations. There should be a beneficial transaction for both people.
What this means, in terms of healing, is that the healers have to start approximately where their patients' fields are to get them to transact. They can't force the energy. This is why some healings are effective, and some are not. It's because the healers are effective at working on some people, and are not effective with other people. This is one of the areas I'm researching. I'm checking techniques and checking the healee’s and the healer’s fields simultaneously, to see if, when the transaction takes place, both fields improve.
Q: You've just explained why not all therapies work for all people.
A: Yes, but we're going to see that certain therapies have to do primarily with the therapists, plus the energy, which is transmissive. We will be testing all of the techniques, and the kinds of fields, and how they respond, so that we will be able to not only diagnose and prescribe the technique that is needed, but also be able to determine which healer will be most effective with each person. And we will do this using the AuraMeter to record their field, and bring it out in fractal images.
We can also display the pattern of disease in fractal images so that even doctors who don't have a background in this area will be able to make a more effective diagnosis, including for conditions where the etiology is unknown. We will have the signature pattern of the major diseases. It is going to take me a while to do this, but eventually I will have the signatures for Alzheimer's, cancer, diabetes, hypertension, and so forth, all of the diseases that kill the most people or cause the most serious disturbances. We'll have those patterns and the signature of the person and eventually we'll be able to show that, if we change the person's signature or electromyographic pattern, we can expect a cure. The disease or dysfunction will go away. This is the future of medicine. When a patient comes in to see his doctor, the first thing that will be done is to record his individual signature. All diagnosis and treatment will start from there. We have to have the energy field of the person. We have to have the energy field of the disease or illness. We have to have the energy field of the energy which is being introduced, and then we have to have the energy field of the therapist, because the therapist is the part of the transaction.
I have recorded the signatures of healers who have healed pain. They have a particular frequency spectrum in their signature. They can walk in a room and merely by their presence they can stop pain. I have others that, if they come into the room, they're going to create the pain with their frequency. So, when we come into the ideal alternative medicine hospital every single person in that room who treats people is going to have to have his field checked.
Spiritual healing is another area I will be researching in more detail. It's been stated that if you pray over a person, they tend to get better. This is an oversimplification. It depends on who prays and from what level, or frequency, they pray. I've recorded people who pray and pray and pray, but they are praying from such a low level that nothing happens. They don't have the amplitude and the necessary frequency to bring in the spiritual healing energy, which is unconditional love. Unconditional love is coherency with great power. If you don't have coherency, you can talk about unconditional love, but you don't really know what it is.

READER FEEDBACK
As mentioned, I received many emails from readers last week, a trend that I hope will continue. One of the most common requests was for more information about specific health conditions, which dovetails nicely with the fact that we will soon be add an entire content section devoted to over 100 of the most common health conditions to 1HealthyWorld.com. Stay tuned to this ezine to be informed of its launch.
One reader wrote that, while he wants to continue to receive The Health Plus Letter, he was concerned about what precautions we are taking to protect against email viruses. Given the proliferation of such viruses, I think this is an excellent question. Happily, I can assure you that you needn’t be concerned about this matter, since we make sure to use up-to-date antivirus software on our List Server that sends out each issue. Moreover, viruses that are sent via email typically are found in attachments to the email, and I can assure you that The Health Plus Letter will never include an attachment to it.
Here is another question I received last week: “I really like your website and thoroughly enjoyed the first issue of your ezine. But given your focus on holistic and alternative healing methods, does that mean you are against conventional medical approaches?”
Another excellent question, and the answer is ABSOLUTELY NOT! I have the utmost respect for conventional physicians, especially given the current struggles they face due to added pressure from HMOs, governmental regulations, and the growing levels of illness in this country, not to mention the constant push by the pharmaceutical industry (see news item above) to get them to use their drugs. Nearly all of the physicians I’ve met, whether conventional or holistic, are committed individuals of high intelligence and passion who strive valiantly to serve their patients’ needs. In addition, when it comes to acute emergency care, conventional medicine is unrivaled in its ability to save lives, and the same can be said for its arsenal of diagnostic tools, which continue to become more effective at screening for illness earlier and earlier, before disease becomes life-threatening.
On the other hand, I think it’s an indisputable fact that the point Plato made nearly 2,500 years ago (see Quote of the Day above) holds true even today – modern medicine does still largely ignore the “whole person” when it comes to treating disease, relying instead on symptom care that is primarily administered via drugs and/or surgery. In cases of acute medical emergency, this is the most appropriate way to go. But in cases of chronic illness (approximately 80% of all disease in this country), such an approach is not only very limited, it can also serve to exacerbate such conditions. That’s why so-called alternative approaches that emphasize lifestyle measures, prevention, and noninvasive, nontoxic treatment methods are so much more effective, as well as being safer.
Neither myself nor the many medical experts whom I know and respect, including 1HealthyWorld.com’s medical advisory board, advocate an “either/or” scenario when it comes to the practice of medicine. Instead, we want to see bridges continuing to be built between the allopathic (conventional) and holistic medical communities, so that patients everywhere can receive the best of both worlds in a truly integrative manner. The tide is definitely turning in that direction, but as a nation we still have a long way to go. And I’m convinced that the key to making it a full reality rests with you and me, the lay consumers who are spearheading what I like to call a “health evolution.”
Finally, a reader named John wrote in to share the following: “I wanted to share the following with you as my entire view of holistic medicine has changed drastically since this past February. My view was always "that's not real medicine".
Eight years ago this week I was diagnosed with Testicular Cancer Stage 1. It was caught soon enough that I had a 98% chance of full recovery. But the following radiation therapy (5 days a week for 5 weeks) threw my metabolism into a complete mess. My weight shot up and my TSH level was so high the family medicine doctor almost put me into the hospital. For the next 7 years I was bounced all over the spectrum of Synthroid and Levoxyl. Sure the TSH level came down but no matter how much exercise I did the weight stayed up. I had the 3 month blood works but they showed zilch. No one listened to me complain about the weight and the fact that I was always tired.
In January my wife was speaking with someone who swore by holistic medicine and she was told to contact a pharmacy that worked with some holistic doctors. I made the calls and found the ONLY holistic doctor in the county. She ran a couple of tests, took me off the Levoxyl, put me on Armor, and changed my multivitamin to a more natural one. She found that I had 2 problems....nobody had ever checked my adrenal gland functions and nobody had listened to my complaints. To date I have dropped nearly 50 pounds and a good 3 inches off my waist. I am feeling 1000% better than I have in years. Thanks to her approach I have more energy and actually look forward to the quarterly visits (not the blood work though). I am a convert!”
I’ve heard countless tales similar to John’s since I began researching this field many years ago, and I never tire of hearing them. Knowing firsthand how powerful the right approach to health can be for healing is why I do what I do, and empowering others to achieve results like John achieved will always be the guiding reason for 1HealthyWorld.com.
RECOMMENDATIONS OF THE WEEK
This week’s choices:
Websites:
www.nfam.org: The online home of the National Foundation for Alternative Medicine, founded by former Congressman Berkeley Bedell, an early proponent of alternative medicine during his many years of service in the House.
www.cancerdecisions.com: The website of Ralph Moss, Ph.D., former assistant director of public affairs at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, and one of the world’s foremost experts in both conventional and alternative cancer treatment methods. Be sure to subscribe to Ralph’s free online newsletter and to read his section on Cancer Treatment Tips. Highly recommended.
www.moldacrossamerica.com: Overseen by Lisa Papi, Mold Across America is an excellent online resource for anyone concerned about the growing health issue caused by toxic mold.
www.truthout.org: I discovered this site during the buildup to the Iraqi invasion, and have since relied on it almost daily as a credible news source and refreshing alternative to our national mainstream media, which once again has demonstrated how little it values the principles of true investigative journalism. (Yes, for the record, I was and remain opposed to the invasion.)
Books:
Fighting Cancer from Within: How To Use the Power of Your Mind for Healing by Martin L. Rossman, M.D. This is an excellent resource that provides practical and easy-to-use guided imagery and visualization methods for harnessing our inborn power to heal. Dr. Rossman is the cofounder and president of the Academy for Guided Imagery, and the information he shares is useful for a wide range of health conditions besides cancer.
Gates of Fire by Steven Pressfield. A masterfully written novel about how 300 Spartan warriors gave their lives to hold in check for one week the invading army (said by ancient Greek historian Herodotus to number two million men) of Persian King Xerxes at the mountainous pass of Thermoplylae in 480 B.C. I felt as if I was there with them, so thoroughly did this book transport me back in time.
All for now. See you next Tuesday.
Health and Blessings!
